Ted, let's go back to the myth that Americans are the bloodthirstiest hunters of endangered species on the planet.

You'd have to ignore all of the poaching done by Africans, South Americans, and Asians who want stuff like ivory or Viagra-like remedies. None of these poachers get shamed by a mob of Internet vigilantes.

Ask yourself why not. Ask yourself why all of these hacktivists and slacktivists never contributed anything to wildlife conservation funds like the WWF and never knew about poaching until they saw it posted on their Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Is it because poaching wasn't getting enough press? I doubt it; the subject is nothing new and was brought up a lot over the past several decades, including in pop culture, media, and public service campaigns.

I'll let you respond before I tell you what I think the answer is.
