The banning is generally for attitude.

Personal attacks and toxic humorless pointless shouting.

At least that has been my experience, including bans from Sioux Nation.

Some people across the web try to morph everything into the same-same SHOUTING Michael Savage style ad hominem attack experiences. This has been a tradition since the usenet groups.
