I'll never be one to blame the military in general as long as their is true civilian control. The buck stops with the Politicians and to a degree with the brass and their public-private revolving doors. Vietnam and Iraq were IMO tragic unnecessary wars and American voters were misled. Like our police, there are sociopaths and psychopaths attracted to the service for all the wrong reasons. The vast majority of police feel they are doing service in order to improve their personal lives and community. They do tend to cover up the internal crimes of their brethren for a number of complicated factors. When American soldiers murder, rape or rob outside the Military Code, it is an affront to all civilized people and our country. Unfortunately many soldiers feel this way on all sides and take slaves, kill and torture for conquest. Americans should NEVER tolerate this.
