Gerald, " TouchStone Software products are distributed through Ingram Micro, Merisel and Tech Data and are sold in more than 8,500 retail stores worldwide, inclusing CompUSA, Computer City, Egghead, Best Buy, MicroCenter, WalMart and Target, as well as large wholesale clubs like Price Costco and SAM's Club. International sale exports to 27 countries. " ( Per bottom of news releases )
My understanding is that Ingram, Merisel and Tech Data distribute the products to various retail stores. Although the number of retail stores has increased from about 7,500 last year to about 9,000 this year, the products are not in all retail stores of a specific chain. . ie it may be in one Best Buy store and not in another. . etc.
The good news is that the company is increasing the number of retail stores that carry the product. The company needs to have more of the Checkit Pro out. There have been two shipments to my local Best Buy. In both cases, the product sold out quickly ( good news ). However, the company did not have enough products out on the shelves as they could have sold more IMO with an increased stockage level.
Given the company's cost cutting efforts started in the 2nd qtr, I am expecting to see a much improved 4th qtr. For example, 1) During the 3rd qtr, TSSW reported a loss of .09 on revenues of only 1,444,000. 2) During the prior 2nd qtr, TSSW reported a loss of .15 on revenues of 1,862,000. ** Per last qtr's release: " Revenue was down primarily due to decreased sales of our PC-cillin II anti-viru product early in the quarter along with the initiation of sell-down programs on WINCheckit and Checkit Diagnostic Kit in anticipation of the new versions. "
** With any pick up in revenue, TSSW should show much better results IMO. Looking for a much improved 4th qtr and beyond.
