>> There was a demand

This, of course, is factually incorrect. There was scarcely any demand at ALL for years, more than a decade. Then along came Netscape. An innovation. Then others. Then businesses.

It is probably among the BEST examples of how innovation and investment fuels growth, not government. Had it been up to government the Internet would still be where it was in 1990. It would never have grown.

There was essentially zero demand in 1990. The total number of users would have been in the low millions, maybe 2 or 3. Even after easy-to-use browsers, until business applications developed it was NOTHING.

Great innovators like Amazon, Google, and others made the Internet. They were INVESTORS and INNOVATORS. The demand FOLLOWED.
