Yea thanks. I saw that article in the lattest issue of Computer Reseller News. Tech Data and other "full service" disty's are becoming more and more critical to the business plans and success of Compaq, IBM, NEC, 3Com, etc. etc. as they move to "build-to-order" and just-in-time assembly and fullfilment models. A key pricing advantage of the model of distributing PC, networking, telecom, software, etc. products thru "integrated" international distributors is that they have so many products to sell that the profit comes more easily at a lower margin on the "white box" (PC). Dell is stuck with their limited ability to get a spread of profit over their customer's broadening information equipment system needs.
