Swedes Respond to Ikea Stabbing–It was the knife’s fault!

African “refugees,” one of whom had been in the country for less than a month, decided to “randomly” start stabbing people in an Ikea in Sweden, killing two. Naturally, the political class took swift action, ordering police to protect housing centers for refugees to guard against that “backlash” which never seems to happen.
But there’s still the matter of the horrifying crime itself. Obviously, the African refugees can’t be to blame. If they have responsibility over their own actions, that would mean we could objectively analyze whether letting in tens of thousands more is a good idea for Sweden. And we don’t want to do that because we need helpless Africans to serve as agency free mascots for leftists to show how progressive and forward thinking they are.
So Swedish leftists have found the real source of responsibility. It was the knife.

Information is also being tightly controlled in the case.
News Agency AFP reports Swedish police have been “tight-lipped” over what precisely happened in the store, and have refused to confirm various claims in the local and global media, from the identity of the victims and perpetrators, the exact nature of the murder weapons, to whether it was a beheading. There are unconfirmed suggestions in the fringe press that the killers shouted “Allah Akbar” as they struck.
Something tells me it will stay unconfirmed. In fact, the Main Stream Media is already trying to use the case to smear patriotic forces in the country, whom, it is darkly implied, are actually the ones responsible for violence.
Police said there was no evidence of any political motive. The victims did not have any connection to their attackers, police said.
“Local police across the region have been tasked with taking these measures, to be there for safety purposes for everyone there – those who work there and those who live there,” Vastmanland police spokesman Per Agren told Sweden’s TT news agency, referring to asylum centres in central Vastmanland county.
Sweden has been one of Europe’s most generous recipients of asylum seekers. In 2014, it received 81,200 applicants, 13 per cent of the total in the European Union.
The anti-immigration Sweden Democrats, who in 2010 took seats in parliament for the first time, have become the third-biggest party, arguing that record numbers of asylum seekers are undermining the country’s cherished welfare model.
The Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention said this week the number of suspected hate crimes — attacks motivated by the victim’s religious, sexual or racial identity — hit a record level last year.

See what they did there? The article smoothly transitions away from the actual crime to discussion of the Sweden Democrats, a populist political party, and then talk of hate crimes. Thus, in an article ostensibly about murders by refugees, the article subtly changes the discussion to a supposed link between the Sweden Democrats and hate crimes. Neat trick.
As with all these issues, as people are not allowed to discuss what is actually going on, public policy becomes even more divorced from reality. This now has a tragicomic aspect to it, as even plastic knives are regarded as dangerous weapons and people under 18 cannot buy them.
So much for Britons never never never shall be slaves
This is an instructive example for Second Amendment advocates. Even if they can ban guns, they won’t stop there. And if you want to protect your guns, you need to oppose mass immigration, especially from criminal populations. |
