That sounds close to what I did. I stayed with Firefox and Thunderbird just because of familiarity. I did go to Edge for downloading and opening PDF files directly, rather than having to go to my download folder and find it there. So far I'm liking this.

I would like to have larger icons down on my taskbar. I haven't found where to make that change yet.
