We can resonantly argue about a lot of things, But the history of racist imagery vs. persons of color, like anti-Semitic images, is significant and words/context matters. You can call me a chimp till the cows come home and I'll just laugh. But if you call Obama a chimp, I think you are being a racist pure and simple. You can criticize Netanyahu as a leader and I'm good. If you call a Jew "vermin" or make a coded comment about communist Hollywood Jews; I will come and kick your snarky hateful ass. But I don't believe you would ever do that. A few here and on talk radio, but not you.
