There is a lot of speculation in that note, and there is no way to tell which part of it is correct. Perhaps a combination of everything - declining exports, baby steps toward a truly market-priced currency so that the yuan may be included in the SDR, who knows. The recent steps still won't get the yuan into the SDR basket. And I think it won't make it into the basket for some time; certainly not based on the collateral developments to the recent devaluation. There will be a very significant price to pay to join that exclusive club, and China is in no position to demand entry. Great find, by the way.
