Sorry to disagree. AMAT's biggest problem has been, and will continue to be, softness in demand for IC's. Whether or not Korean companies come up with the required capital is not really an issue in my mind. If demand remains constant, capacity will be soaked up by another player. Also, KIM that SEA accounts for only ~22% of worldwide chip consumption. So even if the demand for chips fell off a cliff by say 33% in SEA, worldwide chip demand would fall by only 7%, assuming chip demand in the rest of the world remained constant.
