| | | Ted, Now why do you think people are more riveted by a white cop killing a black man vs black on black violence? Other than the answer that you hate to hear, the reason why is that the story of "evil white man oppressing poor black man" is more dramatic than "two black guys doing the samo samo."
In the case of the former, there is a clear oppressor, there is a clear victim, and there is a clear sin.
In the case of the latter, it's not as clear. Heck, the one committing the murder is being viewed as a "victim" of his poor circumstances. The cycle of poverty, the cycle of violence, the seemingly easy access to firearms, etc. All of the factors involved are not so cut-n-dry, nor are the solutions.
In my opinion, it's a LOT easier for people to show righteous indignation over the former than the latter. Doesn't make it right, though.
