Yes, exactly right, John. I also find it stunning that the Democrats think that the way to deal with a downturn in the economy is to resort to the Fed or unusual stimuli. Has anyone stopped to think that business cycles are normal and that we should just let them play out, because downturns clear out the excesses of the boom portion of the business cycles? Has anyone stopped to think that when we don't allow the downturns to clear out those excesses (misallocation of capital, sky high asset prices), then we end up with chronic over-indebtedness, zombie companies, and permanent low to no growth in productivity and GDP?

All of this is common sense to any Austrian economist, but seems to escape even the Nobel prize winning Keynesians. Go figure. I can't abide willfull stupidity. Maybe Trump is right. We have stupid leaders who are giving this country away to the Chinese and to the Mexicans piece by piece.
