Linda, If I were you, I would consider writing off the worst prospects that are in your portfolio against the BMY gain.
I don't know the actual numbers or whether we're talking about a tax-deferred account, but you could always buy the BMY back later on or
play the upside immediately using derivatives and alot less capital.

"...looking at what has actually paid off the best." I realize you're using a figure of speech, because I know you understand that the pay-off doesn't happen until after you've executed the sale.

You did mention some time ago on this thread that the 1/3 HEB position you sold was for a profit, so if you're not comfortable with what you've got left, you could trim back some more to eliminate any tax liability from your previous profitable sale.
