Actually we were talking about death causes.
You brought out the tired statistic about gun deaths, always avoiding the relevant statistics: How many were justifiable homicides, how many were committed by people in the act of a crime and who possessed a fire arm illegally, how many times has violence or death been averted by someone possessing a legal right to bear arms, how many times has someone been protected by the fact that a legal fire arm was involved. Your statistic falls to an insignificant level when all factors are considered, especially in the context of legal gun control.
So guns are a contributing factor to death in this country, so are cars, so is alcohol. That crosses a line at the point where human ignominies underly the event. Considering the impact of each, alcohol is far and away the biggest, the overwhelming winner, bar none, in its ability to contribute to such crime, injury, other types of harm, and death in this country. Yet here you are proclaiming it doesn't matter. |
