I see Crude dipped below 40 before bouncing back a bit to close just over and the small rally in the indexes cascaded down into one hell of a drop for the day.

If the market rallies from here, this has all the appearances of a bear raid, shake loose the weak hands, run out the stop then rebound. Of course that is only one of many options going into next week.

So now it's time to consider if this is the start of the bear market that so many have been crowing about or if this is simply a hard correction from the months of relatively sideways movements in the major indexes.

I've seen plenty of ideas on all sides during my review these past couple of hours. "Taper tantrum 2", "China Syndrome", "Emerging markets meltdown", "Old fashioned Bear Raid", etc.....
