I well remember liberals pretending to care about income inequality long before Reagan.

Re Reagan, with Volcker squeezing the economy with monetary policy to fight inflation, don't you think some fiscal stimulus via tax cuts to the economy was good?

He made a point of splitting the Democratic Party in 1980 and gave us Reagan which left us with $18 Trillion in debt 35 years later.

35 years? You're worse than Wharf Rat who will cast off this mortal coil screeching RAAAAYGUNNNNN ..... and he's talking about when Reagan was governor.

As for Ted Kennedy, he didn't actually split the Democratic vote since he gave up when he didn't get the party to nominate him. John Anderson DID try to split the Republican party though by actually running as an independent. Anderson was clearly trying to get Carter re-elected to keep Reagan out of office. But Kennedy and Anderson didn't matter ... Reagan won by a LANDSLIDE carrying 44 states.
