I'm sorry, I thought you said he was 40. I didn't know your friend was aged 160. You realize that the MWP lasted 600 years and was warmer than today. Yet, ALL of it amounts to less than 1C (~2F). And of course, they didn't even have measurement equipment then. The trends aren't about 40 years. They're about 100s of years. If we are in a warming trend, and no one really knows for sure that we are, we have no idea how long that trend will last. It will certainly outlast the need for fossil fuels. Get over it. Thoughtful people already have.
