The issue of twins, while interesting, doesn't change the fact that Human Life begins at conception and that the fetus is a Living Human Being, genetically and biologically distinct from it's mother. In the case of twining within the first 14 days or so, it's impossible to know beforehand how many individuals will result until after that period has run it's course. That fact certainly does not mean that the fetus prior to splitting was not a Human Being. It is rather odd though that you seem to want to take the possibility of the fetus dividing in the first 14 days and use that as an excuse to kill full term babies.

The child (5 minutes before it is to be born) is a human being that is genetically distinct from it's mother, in exactly the same way as it is after the birth of the child. All Human Beings have intrinsic and God given rights. These rights to life and liberty are not granted by the State and they cannot be abrogated by the declaration of 9 men in black robes any more than yours can. The child will continue to be reliant on it's mother who has a moral and legal obligation to sustain and nurture the child for many years to come. The Mother could place the child up for adoption where others would assume her moral and legal obligations to her child, but a no point is she simply allowed to kill the child because it is inconvenient for her to take care of it. The Mother ( in the vast majority of cases) has knowingly and willingly engaged in the sexual act that brought about the pregnancy in the first place and in doing so has subjected herself to the moral obligations that entail when a new and distinct Human Being is created.

PS. I'm in the middle of a major reno at home so my postings are going to be sporadic for a while.
