I didn't reply to that post because I didn't understand how they could possibly use such short periods to predict trends. I thought it was some kind of new math that I didn't understand. It actually did seem bizarre. Thank you for confirming my suspicions.

No matter the bogus/fabricated number, to project climate trends across a century based on one-year is the stupidest thing one can do. Whoever wrote that is dumb as shit.
