It is not simple and that is precisely the reason you don't fold up your tent and go home, which was exactly what we did. We got NOTHING from Iran in this deal. CJ is arguing about 5 years this, 15 years that. The reality is that we have no teeth.

Think about it. We gave up $150 Billion. Not chicken feed. It was costing us NOTHING to hold it. At the very least, if they wanted to give it back to them there is NO WAY IN HELL they get a lump sum. No reasonable attorney would have approved such a deal. If you want to let them have $10 Billion/year for 15 years contingent upon their specific performance that would have been at least something. I'm telling you no one in his right mind would have made such a deal. That's just for the money.

You tell me: If you were buying a house for cash and the title policy came back saying, "Well, there's a lien against the property if specific criteria aren't met, but we're fine with it." Would you go through with the deal not knowing what the criteria are? That's what the Democrats are voting to do -- to move forward with a deal when you don't even know what all the moving parts are. It is stupid.

And the sanctions are what puts pressure on the population. Without them, who knows what will happen. But after Russia and others get engaged in large deals with Iran, I don't give a damn what happens, those sanctions aren't coming back. That's just reality.

So, the bottom line is we got absolutely nothing in this deal. And any American who isn't downright pissed about it isn't paying attention because it is totally clear Iran has no intention of abiding by the terms of the agreement.
