(At the time we didn't lock our doors at night, because it wasn't necessary). Most gunowners are not looking to shoot someone, although you might find that difficult to believe. In fact, the only gunowners who ARE looking to shoot someone are the people who the law will never, ever get the guns away from. And if they did, they would just buy another one from some crackhead. I'm not sure why you can't see how stupid the argument is. Gunowners aren't the problem here. Guns aren't the problem. Criminals are the problem.
