This comment pretty much summarizes the idiocy of the Left and it is a point I complain about a lot. The Left thinks like you: It is stupid do nothing so we'll just do something stupid and call the problem fixed.

This is not how intelligent people solve problems. If it is stupid to do nothing then you resolve to do something, then you set about to do it; but you have to make sure the something you do helps the situation. Because doing something that doesn't help by definition, hurts.

Climate Change is a case in point, but not the only one. Obamacare is a great one. We needed to do something so they did something. But it made matters worse not better. Yet the idiots on the Left see it as a solution.

The idea is to solve the problem, not to create political power. Not to appear to be achieving something when you're not.

I'm fine with doing something about gun violence if you can just point to something that will actually impact the problem without gutting individual rights to gun ownership. If you think for a minute you're going to actually make Americans give up their guns that is not going to happen. You might get the law abiding people in California to do it, but in the fly-over states that's not happening.
