OK, so check this, all of which has only been posted during the last couple of days:
"Many have pointed out the downsides of one of her biggest decisions, HP’s merger with Compaq. Still, Therese Poletti over at MarketWatch notes that the company’s server business, which was part of the acquisition, has been a bright spot.

“Critics often claim Carly was fired at HP because she was unsuccessful,” Mr. Perkins wrote. “As a member of the board, I can tell you this is not true. In truth, it was the Board I was a part of that was ineffective and dysfunctional.”
Mr. Perkins’ defense of Ms. Fiorina sheds little light on the candidate’s acumen as a CEO, but it is a remarkable testimony.
According to Ms. Fiorina’s biography, Tough Choices, Mr. Perkins was an active member of the HP board faction that urged her ouster as CEO in February 2005. Perkins had retired from the board the year before, having reached the company’s mandatory retirement age. But he returned at the urging of a friend, George “Jay” Keyworth, and took to second-guessing many aspects of the company’s direction.
By January, Fiorina found herself regretting the decision to let him back in. “I was appalled by the re-emergence of Tom Perkins and the very active role he was clearly playing,” she wrote.
She was out within a month.
Mr. Perkins’ public letter expressed regret for his role in the firing. “In order to restore peace to the board I voted to fire her,” he wrote. “That was a mistake.”
