I too tried to get a price from the compaq direct sales web site....
and could not do it. As someone else said earlier....
even when the website is up and working, i doubt that there will be any price advantage (undercutting your retailers is not good business)
so the only advantage would be the "custom" system, which is why i guess people go direct order.
