Well it looks like Warren thinks Oil will be around for a while. Saudi is also saying they will talk about negotiating a price for OPEC oil again. At $50+ oil Teck will probably keep their Frontier project in the pipeline.

Expo/Guy, When the layoffs at Cenovus happened previously. My son ( now 50 yrs old) was among the 1500 let go. Within a couple of days he was contacted. Asked if he would take a couple of further paid for qualification courses. Then report back to work. He did, and was reinstated with a $10 per hr raise. made him the lead hand in his department and. Gave him a company vehicle.
On return he assumed a position that encompassed what was previously done by three people. Hopefully he'll survive the next round.
The cutbacks were actually just layoffs to get rid of many employees who were not really productive. Nor did they have the desire to be.

Being that our children grew up in a business family. I have always instilled in them from the time they could understand.
The priority reason any employee having a job, is to make the company money. If they always kept that in your mind front and center. They would never have to ask for a raise. Raises will come voluntarily as employers never want to lose good people.
They seen Examples of it within our own Corp. I sometimes raised wages, But most often was offered in the form of profit sharing bonus or production incentives. It willingly brings the best out of any worker.
