gary, nobody cares about the charge. EVERYONE knows it is a one time deal. they do care about OPERATING eps and their perception of what the acquisition will do for future eps growth.

the perception now is that gems' future is heavily weighted in asia and that these acquisitions will stall growth for a little while. nobody cares about the charge, in and of itself. they do care about the cost 9charge)/benefit (what will this charge equate to in eps going forward) ratio.
