The revolutionary guard exists to BENEFIT the revolutionary guard, and not to serve the whims of an old Ayatolla. Name ONE thing this Supreme Leader has done during his reign that didn't MIRROR exactly what the revolutionary guard WANTED him to do. Including this latest nuclear deal. This isn't 1979 any more when Iran was run by ideologues just waiting for Khameni to tell them what to do even if it meant dying on the battlefield against Iraq. These guys are businessmen now and ideology is great as long as it serves its purpose but they don't want to give up their billions to fight some quixotic religious war. That's why this nuclear deal could actually work.
