This, of course, is not correct.

See Bearman and Brueckner (2002), a study of tens of thousands of students in which "same-sex attraction concordance between identical twins was only 7.7% for males and 5.3% for females."

But this is far from being the only study.

No one is saying there cannot be a genetic component but everyone who knows anything about this science acknowledges that people are not generally "born gay."

The striking thing is that the academics involved have preferred, unlike the so-called "climate scientists", to avoid getting into the politics:

"Still, many misconceptions persist in the popular culture. Namely, that homosexuality is genetic – so hard-wired into one’s identity that it can’t be changed. “The academics who work in the field are not happy with the portrayals by the media on the subject,” Dr. Whitehead notes. “But they prefer to stick with their academic research and not get involved in the activist side.”

Dr. Carson was, of course, totally correct on the subject. If you "believe in science."
