You are nothing if not consistent.

Orientation is a more complex matter, which doesn't lend itself to simplistic polarized explanations like genetics vs environmental influence.

It is pretty clear that it has a genetic component. It might be like autism where there are many genes that cause brain development to go wrong with similar results. Or it might be only one or two. We don't know yet. Now that the cost of sequencing an entire genome has dropped so much, I suspect we will know very soon. What is also clear is that it isn't a choice for most. Sure, for some, but we call them "bisexual".

Now culture can have some effect. But not a lot. Even in cultures where homosexuals are harassed, beaten and even killed, homosexuals do exist. Who in their right mind would choose that if it were volitional?
