It isn't a straw man. By implication, you stated that anyone who wasn't "born gay" would not be gay unless they chose it. It is a logical question: Are those in fact the only choices? Isn't is possible for someone to neither have been born gay nor choose to be gay?

People sometimes become things without any underlying pathology. Straight, gay, happy, sad, rich, poor, arrogant, divisive, hateful, spiteful, nice, mean, jealous, hard-headed, just because. They weren't born that way. But they ended up that way. And they didn't choose it for themselves. |
