I am in awe at the amount of tropical cyclones in the Pacific. It's a record year for that region. Amazing! The storms do represent a conversion of potential energy to kinetic energy. In other words, it's an expression of heat; it's nature offsetting the imbalance. That's what nature does, and it is being really good at it. This makes me wonder how long the effects of El Nino will linger into the winter. It's a relatively rapid expression.

I suspect this may happen due to a cooling upper atmosphere, which is from a increased lapse rate. That's a tough one to prove, thus I'm right!
