I don't think SS is the problem most everything else is including our record wealth disparity and policies geared towards the investing class instead of labor!!!!! I would raise the retirement age gradually for those of us younger in the work force to balance the rise in life expectancy compared to prior generations..

Uncle in his mid 80's just had his two heart valves fixed I believe via stents so now a minor procedure. Up till recently was high risk open heart surgery. He is as good as new. Cost was $275K paid for by the tax payers left working.. Health care as a percentage of GDP has grown from 8% to 25% in 50 years crowding out the real economy way more than even more than the other MIC or welfare/disability/food stamps ect..
