WHY is it so much less likely now than it was then? I think it's MORE likely now. Back in the early 60's Russia had a much more complicated and evolved system. They had layers and layers of government. After Stalin they created a new system so no one person could have complete power. All those guys had lived under Stalin where they could have major power one day and be executed the next. They set up a system where the power was consolidated in the "Party" and not the man. After Gorbachev that all broke down. Putin came along and he REBUILT the cult of ONE leader. Putin is now the NEW Stalin... If you don't believe that then look at all the BILLIONAIRES he's locked up.
