I think share consolidation is important.
Although a share holders % of equity in the company doesn't change,
what can happen is the $ value of the shares changes.
I know when Canadian Airlines consolidated it's millions of shares,
the $ value of shares dropped from around $7 to $1.
There was another company where this happened as well - which I don't recall the name.
I'm not saying it would be as dramatic, or even happen. I am saying
that after an consolidation the $ value of the shares after consolidation can trend down.
I think if the company is good financial shape at the time of
consolidation this trend down shouldn't happen.
