In any case the original thin, cheap, light, and disposable (or semi-disposable, I often reuse them once or twice for other purposes, I wouldn't doubt that many other people do as well and that needs to be considered in any calculation) don't harm the environment much in the first place.

They contribute to the plastic islands growing in the oceans. 99% of seagulls have plastic in them. That's all you need to know.
