I noticed that the price did not change today from yesterday, but also the volume was "0". We should be able to find out for sure tomorrow what the situation really is, but if I had to bet, the trading is all over for ALTR now consumed by INTC. If so the SOX has a problem as well as the SOXM. Adjustments will have to be made, no matter whether another stock is added to regain the 30 stock SOX index, or if they go along with only 29 stocks for the moment.

I remember a news "bite" out of the PHLX exchange when they went to the 30 stocks index, that they were, at least tentatively, to do a reevaluation of the index around the September time frame. With this being September, and if that is still their intent, changes could be made immediately.

Don't forget, BRCM is on route to be "gobbled up" by AVGO at some point in the future. That is another change in the SOX and SOXM.
SINGAPORE and IRVINE, Calif., May 28, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Avago Technologies Limited (Nasdaq:AVGO) and Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq:BRCM) today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Avago will acquire Broadcom in a cash and stock transaction that values the combined company at $77 billion in enterprise value. Upon completion of the acquisition, the combined company will have the most diversified communications platform in the semiconductor industry, with combined annual revenues of approximately $15 billion.
