That might have been my second thought but my first thought was they were cherry tomatoes. So, upon receiving the basket, I popped one in my mouth. The taste was familiar but I couldn't quite figure it out.

Turns out that they are Turkish orange eggplant.

The world has gone topsy turvy on me. What used to be green is now purple (potatoes, beans, peppers, etc.) and what used to be purple is now red.

It seems every other week the local veggie folks are playing a trick on me. Deliciously though.
