Arrhenius linked his predictions to a doubling of CO2 and that's not going to take 3000 years. He was sure global warming would be a good thing.

BTW I just noticed Arrhenius got a grant from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences though I don't know what involvement the Swedish government or royal family might have had in it.
