EPIC RESOURCES (B.C.) LTD. ("ERB-V;EPILF-L")

- Applies For and Receives Drilling Permit; Working Agreements

Frank W. Donis, President of EPIC RESOURCES (B.C.) LTD. is pleased to announce the following:

Epic has applied for and received a drilling permit to drill a coalbed methane (CBM) well on their property in the Bellingham Basin (Ferndale 1A). The location of
the well will be a step out on the Ferndale #1 well. Drilling will commence within the first week of 1998. The purpose of this well will confirm the presence of
commercial gas from associated coals while coring various coal seams.

Epic also announces that working agreements are in place with Terratek, Inc., Tesseract Corporation, Colog Inc. and Hayes Drilling, Inc. to help advise on all
technical related issues while drilling the well and evaluating results.

Epic is currently preparing an application to drill a second well in the Bellingham Basin. Approval from the state is expected and drilling should commence by the
third week of February 1998. The purpose of the second well will confirm the productivity of commercial gas from the associated coals encountered.

Results of the two wells will be compiled with all previous data to create a technical report. This report will be for internal use to help direct future drilling activity,
however, it will also satisfy the requests made by the Companies currently interested in this valuable project.
