Have you paid attention to what's actually going on in Russia now? Yes, which is why I call Putin an "aggressive authoritarian thug". Stalin killed tens of millions, maybe more then a million a year average for three decades (the standard figure seems to be 20 million, but that might ignore some categories) the only people who killed on a similar level to Stalin are Mao (who killed a lower percentage of his countries population, but who had more people to potentially kill and killed more in total) and Hitler (and that's only if you account all European theater WWII deaths to him, even those killed by his enemies in combat, because he started the war). Saying he's not Stalin is a pretty low hurdle for him to clear. The ayatollah's in Iran aren't Stalin. Saddam Hussein wasn't Stalin. Kim Jong-il isn't Stalin.
