Do you think the voters are happy with how politics has been working in Washington DC. The dismal approval numbers are NOT specific to party. An average now has the approval of congress at 14.8%. ...........How else can the voters express their frustration and disgust than chose a candidate as far outside of the politic machine as they can get? Here is an example John; Patty Murrey is my senator and is up for election. She is a beltway politician tied to the likes of Boeing and Microsoft. Every thing she does is pretty much the public has claimed that they hate. BUT - she is also a very powerful senator as you know. So it would be kind of stupid to vote against her and elect a republican instead. So pragmatically, Washington voters may want to keep her annnnnnnnnnd vote for Bernie as the only way to express their dissatisfaction - in the short term. That will change. ............Todds thinking is even further in the weeds. Everyone is overthinking this. People are just mad at government. Simple.
