If many in his party wanted him to do more, but he did nothing, he could perhaps take minimal credit for not stopping the drilling, but that's rather minimal. Also he didn't consistantly do nothing, he did take steps to oppose measures that would serve to decrease domestic and other North American sourced energy supply in the US, such as opposing the Keystone XL pipeline, delaying and denying drilling permits etc.

Denying Keystone will not decrease energy production. He stopped it because it threatened an important aquifer. And other than in national parks, where has Obama stopped drilling?

And your deluding yourself if you think this recovery has been strong. Its been one of the slowed in modern US history.

It was..........past tense.......its now becoming a strong recovery DESPITE how bad the rest of the world is doing.
