Nothing in your post does much to refute the point that these bans don't produce serious positive results.

Huh? What I posted made clear the benefits. But let me repeat them.............it reduces the amount of litter on our landscape and in our cities; it reduces oil consumption and it reduces landfill requirements. It prevents sea mammals from inhaling the bags into their digestive system. These are just a few of the benefits.
