Yes, that was excellent! I must find the time to watch the other videos in the series.

Every time growth doubles (for instance, 7% growth in ten years)...that quantity must ALWAYS exceed the total of ALL previous growth in that series. And as long as there is ANY percentage increase....doubling will inevitably occur.

So at some point in human history, humanity will either use contraception (or something less palatable) to equalise births and deaths...or Nature will do the job for us.

In the same vein, human growth MUST have the consequence of increased resource consumption. So diminishment of fixed resources will also eventually double--again and again and again...until there is only one grain of sand on the chessboard.

It is not easy to control how much humans consume of certain necessities (such as WATER). So we must control how MANY of us are fighting for the same precious glass.

This simple arithmetic (as you rightly pointed out) is simply beyond the grasp of stone-age minds who think the earth is a throw-away platform with a fired-up Satan wielding pokers somewhere in the middle...
