Trump Fans to Protesters: 'Clean My Hotel Room'

(NEWSER) – Donald Trump spoke to 15,000 fans at a Dallas arena last night in what the Dallas Morning News reports was the biggest political event in the city since Obama attracted 17,000 people to a rally in 2008. There was also a large crowd of protesters outside the American Airlines Center, and Politico reports that the clashes with Trump supporters "reached new heights" of intensity, with the largely Latino protesters swearing at Trump fans in Spanish and Trump supporters hurling insults like "Clean my hotel room" and "Press 1 for English."
At the rally, Trump told the crowd he would lower taxes, bring in tough measures to deal with illegal immigration, and replace ObamaCare with "DonaldCare," Politico reports. "You people are suffering" from the effects of illegal immigration, he said. He slammed some of his GOP rivals but praised ex-candidate Rick Perry as a "nice guy" who "tried," reports the Morning News. Reuters reports that after some effort, a reporter for a Spanish-language Dallas paper managed to find a pair of Latino Trump supporters in the crowd. "He's really speaking about change," said a Texas-born 28-year-old woman with a Mexican father, adding that her mom was "so anti-Trump." |
