Paul: The word "contempt" was derived from your dismissal of most of the U.S. population as "computer illiterate". You didn't use the word "contempt" in your posting -- I was absolutely exagerating your stance. I tried to separate this out from the more serious text that followed and mark it with symbols meant to indicate the jest/exageration.

In any case, "computer illiterate" as a way to dismiss the population is a fairly vague way of doing it -- I tried to illustrate this to you using examples of people who can't read or write who still have a use for computer. It looks like I failed again. You told me in your post that I had better brush up on my reading comprehension -- I think it must be my writing comprehensability that needs real work.

However, I'm glad the note caught your attention -- previously all I seemed to get from you was negative ranting about the NC. Thanks for making this last post so clear.

In any case, I'm still failing to get my point across -- but I won't repeat it because doing so might be considered brow-beating. I will give you a hint: a key fundamental disagreement we have arises from your belief that "computers are cheap". I don't believe it based on the percentage of disposable income that the average U.S. (let alone many third-world countries) family has to spend in order to obtain one.

Have a great day!

Mark

P.S. Regarding the "vocabulary/dictionary" statement -- I promise to try to use monosyllabic -- uh, I mean short -- words in my postings to you from now on. :)

And regarding "basic statistics" -- I promise not to bring up the fact again that in this conversation between you and me that the "basic statistics" would tell us that 50% of the two people communicating with each other are not as intelligent as the other half -- and that one-half of the conversation believes that what I had believed were fairly ordinary words are "50 cent words". :) :) :) (Those symbols mean that what I was saying I meant in jest -- just as the first paragraph of my previous post had those symbols and was intended to mean to you that the term "contempt" was in jest (actually, a gross exageration). I've got no interest in questioning your intelligence -- I'm sure you're a lot more intelligent than I am!)
