To all:

I have involved in this thread since August 97 when the analysts were predicting high sales levels and potential profits. Stuffing the Channels with unsold product was a risk. Java initiative was unknown. Cowplands vision to unseat Microslop etc. We get the point.

When the 3rd Qtr sucked, Cowpland sold shares, 4th qtr predictions nightmare etc. The stock dropped with every "Bad release" analysts departed and most of us positive shareholders came to the realization that we were "SUCKED IN BIG TIME"

Things smelt pretty bad and they should.

But...

As an accountant the things I read now smell even worse in a positive way.

How is a company able to lose the money it lost in the 3rd and 4th Qtr and increase Cash position? Most assets were written off not sold.

With so called "Sales Out" of over 100 million and cash increase of 7million plus repurchase of 4.1million the Net cash increase before purchase is 11.1 million.

My gut feeling without looking at the numbers is operationally Corel made money. The loss goes back to 1st and 2nd Qtrs which showed high expenses and overstated sales.

Are we being duped into thinking that Corel is a stuggling software lead astray by a compulsive Egomanic? To me the struggle happened and finished many months ago. I wish I had the final statements from the 4th Qtr. with the real numbers restated for each Qtr as it happened.

Are we able to persuade Corel into providing the correct restated numbers. I want to know the truth! Numbers should not lie and they sure as hell are.

We are being sucked into selling this company short while the company is buying long!

Am I nuts?
