My opinion was based on my view that the writers of the article are looking at a "symptom" and calling it a disease.

I've been whiplashed many times by VIX trades. Win some, lose some. If you trade it constantly, that's going to happen. If you time it properly, then it can be extremely profitable. I agree with much of what the article was stating, I just think the nature of their headline was a joke.

Again, it's looking at a symptom of what these vehicles do and saying it's an outright disease on the market. I suppose if you are expecting these vehicles to act differently and don't understand the oversized moves they can make, then it's another just another "conspiracy", yet another "market scam". zerohedge has a never ending list of conspiracies and scams.

Is it possible that market players are using VIX and the many VIX related vehicles to move the SPY? Naturally.

Lastly, I will be glad to discuss things and voice my opinions. Take them or discard them as you see fit but I see no need to defend myself beyond what I've just stated. I certainly don't agree with much of what you post, Isopatch but I have no problem with you posting it!
