<<Cymer makes ASND look like a star performer in my portfolio!>>
How well I know. 5,000 shares here, blended somewhere in the 20's.
It's frustrating how much tax policy and fund management drives the price in issues such as this one. The nice thing, though, is that both will start pushing the price the other way in '98. The important thing is the company's comanding lead in a technology that is essential to the next step in semis.
I do, however, see some trouble ahead. This season is a non-event in PC sales because of the absence of any new technology, and I think that's going to hit the market in February or so. You have to figure, however, that that's going to cause an acceleration in the movement to faster boxes, and that has to be a positive for CYMI given that the PII has pushed the mercury arc/phase shift technology to its limits. It's just like the car business: you have to roll out new models to capture sales. And CYMI is the key to the new models.
If all assumptions hold, we'll trade through $100.00 in a couple two or three years. Between now and then, I don't much care about where it trades.
Have a great holiday,
